Sophos  is a company that deals with cybersecurity (both software and hardware) based in Abingdon-on-Thames , England ( UK ). It offers communication endpoint, encryption , network security, e-mail security and mobile security products and also a Unified Threat Management product ; is primarily focused on providing security to organizations and businesses.       

SophosLabs  is the company's global network of threat intelligence and development centers.

In November 2019, private equity firm Thoma Bravo agreed to buy it for $3.8 billion.

It competes in the antivirus industry against Avira , F-Secure , Kaspersky , McAfee , Panda Security , and Symantec among others.
