On the occasion of the “5G Healthcare – Vodafone Conference & Experience Day” event dedicated to the future of Healthcare and Well-being promoted as part of the 5G Experimentation, Vodafone presented the remote medical analysis and consultation systems solution created with Exprivia and Humanitas.
This collaboration has resulted in a remote management and teleconsultation system dedicated to the world of radiology, which allows technicians and medical specialists to collaborate remotely during and after the execution of radiological examinations.
Technicians and radiologists will be able to consult each other thanks to the real-time sharing of high-resolution DICOM radiological images (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), using ad hoc viewers to highlight elements of interest or specific indications directly on the examinations performed. In addition, a particularly innovative aspect is that it allows the doctor to remotely view the screen of the X-ray machine console, CT scan or magnetic resonance imaging, to assist in real time in setting up the examination protocols and viewing the first scans performed.
In this context, 5G is the enabling technological factor not only to be able to transmit and share very high resolution DICOM videos and images on the move and in minimal time but also to ensure security in the management of this sensitive data.
The implemented solution therefore brings a series of important benefits such as the mobile visualization of radiological data, the execution of more accurate diagnoses, an optimization in terms of costs and delivery times of services.
Currently active at Humanitas, the solution allows interactive communication of doctors and radiologists between the two sites of Rozzano and Pio X.
