Improving a service also means just making it accessible. Thanks to the memorandum of understanding signed between Federfarma Bari, Policlinico di Bari and Exprivia, it is possible to book specialist visits and pay the ticket in 241 accredited pharmacies in the Bari area. Citizens will be able to go to their trusted pharmacy with the NHS prescription prescribed by the doctor and the health card. The pharmacist, by connecting to the CUP of the Polyclinic through the system developed by Exprivia, will book the specialist visit and offer the citizen the first free place available extrapolated from the system.

Exprivia Solution

It is a real turning point, as the health information system used so far to make the actors of the health organization communicate with each other, in particular the Puglia Region, the ASLs and hospitals, evolves and opens up to the public. Pharmacies thus become real proximity service centers to assist citizens by increasing their quality of life.

Results

We have conducted an intense training activity for about 250 pharmacists in the metropolitan area of Bari to enable them to use the new system independently. In the first month alone, the service recorded more than 300 requests for the booking of specialist visits, and in the wake of these positive results we can only hope that it will find maximum territorial diffusion.
