
In a process of growth to meet the challenges of digital transformation, SGI saw in Exprivia the right partner to start a journey that started from the need to replace the management system in use, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009; one activity is therefore aimed at migrating the current ERP (Dynamics Ax) to an independent SAP technology platform (SAP S/4HANA).
Needs
The S4@SGI project has set itself the goal of implementing a new integrated system capable of:
- adequately support the development and evolution of operational processes, ensuring the best
support for characteristic business processes; - ensure integration between processes by optimizing the flow of communication;
- increasing the efficiency of processes by reducing low value-added activities;
- maintain effective integration with the applications that exist today and that remain in place even in
- presence of the S/4HANA Information System;
- support a solid, flexible application and infrastructure platform open to possible future extensions and equipped with Embedded Analytics functions capable of providing real-time statistical data to support everyday operational processes;
- provide a path of change facilitated for users thanks to the simplifications of the new information system
, starting with the User Experience.
Exprivia Solution
In response to SGI’s needs and in continuity with the planned digital transformation programming, Exprivia was responsible for the greenfield implementation project of the SAP S/4HANA system vers. 2021 On Premise with SAP Activate methodology: Agile methodology , on which Exprivia operates thanks to the conclusion of a certification process on the phases that see it composed: Prepare, Explore and Realize up to Deploy.
The system went live in January 2023 with the achievement of the objectives that activated the next phase of Run for application maintenance with a 12-month contract from May 2023.
Among the main macro-implementation themes, we can certainly mention: Finance and Control processes, including Treasury and Fixed Assets, Passive and Active Electronic Invoicing, the Controlling model, Purchasing processes and Project System processes.
Results
The migration was the first step that responded to a need for general evolution of the management company in terms of business efficiency which, from the collaboration between Exprivia and SGI, immediately emerged in the project planning and which had an excellent resolution, thanks to the deep professionalism of SGI and the experience of Exprivia, gained in 40 years of digital transformation projects of business processes with a 360-degree vision and cross-industry of activities and solutions.
The advantages noted by the customer deriving from the implementation are: having found in SAP S/4HANA the right answer for the integrated management of business processes with the aim of improving collaboration, supporting the company in choosing data-based decisions and increasing business productivity by standardizing procedures, as well as supporting the processing of reports in management control.
The model implemented also responded to the obligation to be able to produce the necessary reports provided for in the Unbundling by ARERA for the preparation of the financial statements through analytical accounting classified according to the specific accounting dimensions required by the Authority.
In particular, the main dimensions of analysis are Activity, Sub-Fund and Category.
The new SAP Fiori front-end has also been activated, in particular for Analitycs, in addition to the classic SAP GUI.
The SAP system was also interfaced with:
- ARXIVAR, the software for sending and receiving electronic invoices to the SDI
- TeamSystem, for the acquisition of personnel costs
- GIC for billing
Finally, the Data Migration task, included in the scope of the project, was noteworthy.
