Regional Health Information Systems
The governance of healthcare requires IT platforms capable of integrating data, services and processes on a regional scale. Regional health information systems make it possible to coordinate health facilities, monitor care activities and support the strategic decisions of public institutions through the analysis of health data.
Exprivia offers a complete, modular and extensible platform for the integrated management of public and private healthcare, an integrated ecosystem for the governance of regional healthcare under its many facets: operational, managerial, economic and qualitative.
The Exprivia ecosystem of regional government modules allows, among other things:
- coordinating information flows between health facilities and administrations;
- ensure interoperability with national systems (NSIS, SDO, LEA, ESF);
- digitize clinical and administrative processes;
- monitor costs, performance and appropriateness of services;
- Governing information flows and productivity
- provide epidemiological reporting and management dashboards;

Edotto: the platform for the governance of regional health systems
Reference: Puglia Region

In a rapidly evolving national scenario, the Apulian regional health system has responded with its own eHealth Plan. The new information strategy, which also enhances previous investments, has separated the regional area from the ASL by inaugurating the horizontal coordination of all services and systems through N-SISR, the New Regional Health Information System, better known as Edotto.
To understand the size of the project, it should be remembered that the Apulian healthcare landscape is characterized by over 700 public and private facilities with more than 4 million patients for 50 million pharmaceutical prescriptions, 15 million specialist prescriptions and 750,000 hospitalizations per year. The region and the competent department govern this reality through the Regional Health Organizational Domain and the Management System that coordinates with the local domains and the N-SISR Service Centers. A uniform and intuitive interface allows users to work on the different application areas using the same operating logic and a single data model to manage all the registries of the system on shared databases. The resources involved include hundreds of managers, technicians and operators for more than 20,000 users including doctors and system insiders operating in over 40 application areas. For the training and continuous training of staff on applications, a constantly updated eLearning platform is also available.
The process today also sees Exprivia used today in the design and implementation of the new Territorial Health Information System (SIST), which represents the backbone on which an essential part of the digital infrastructure of the Apulian healthcare system is articulated: electronic prescription, dematerialization, transmission of information flows, interoperability with regional and national systems. It is the system that every day connects professionals, pharmacies, CUPs, citizens and regional decision-makers in a structured, regulated and secure process.
The process today also sees the design and implementation of the SIST information system for basic medicine and pediatrics. Further developments are planned for the Electronic Health Record and for other information, accounting and clinical systems pertaining to all health facilities.
