Needs
A Vehicle-SOC – Security Operations Center for vehicles – to prevent cyber attacks on increasingly digital and connected cars. Exprivia, an international Group specialising in Information and Communication Technology, is expanding its services to the automotive world by making its cybersecurity technology available for the Vehicle-SOC of Macnil GT Alarm, a manufacturer of IoT systems and satellite car anti-theft devices based in Gravina in Puglia (BA), in the heart of the Murgia Valley technology hub.
Exprivia Solution
Exprivia provides a PROPRIETARY CYBERSECURITY
THREAT INTELLIGENCE PLATFORMA tool equipped with Artificial Intelligence that allows you to identify and analyze any threats to the digital systems of vehicles through an analysis conducted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At risk can be the servers to which vehicles connect or mobile apps to manage cars remotely, or even Bluetooth systems; Exprivia’s consultancy acts on the prevention, monitoring and recognition of anomalies in the systems, with the possibility of intervening promptly and adequately to block an attack on the vehicle. The intervention can counteract the theft of sensitive data or the acquisition of control of driving by a third party and avoid accidents.
With the digital revolution that the automotive world is going through, investing in cybersecurity has become a priority. There are a large number of highly intelligent sensors, actuators and control units in vehicles, often connected via open protocols. They can be considered real data centers in progress, exposed to high vulnerabilities and attackable at any time for different
reasons, says Domenico Raguseo, Cybersecurity Director of Exprivia.
Modern cars will be equipped with increasingly sophisticated technologies, to facilitate not only greater dialogue between them, but also between these and the entire ecosystem that allows the vehicle to function (from workshops to production factories, to suppliers of alarm systems); The need to increase the protective factors against cyber threats makes it possible to ensure the efficiency of all systems on board, as well as in particular to safeguard the safety of travellers. Raguseo continues:
Recent European regulations on new car models are also aimed at raising the level of cyber security with a view to developing sustainable mobility that meets both technical-administrative and IT approval standards.
Exprivia already has to its credit,
ITS OWN SECURITY OPERATION CENTER (SOC) for the security of companies, institutions and Public Administration: at the Group’s headquarters in Molfetta, a team of experts available to Italian and international customers is responsible for monitoring any anomalies in IT systems. In addition, as part of the skills developed in cybersecurity, Exprivia has implemented an internal Observatory that publishes a quarterly Report on cyber threats in Italy.
Mario Direnzo, Head of Research & Development at Macnil GT, says:
In the era of connected cars, the V-SOC GT ALARM sets a new standard in the cyber-physical security of vehicles and connected infrastructures” Alarm. “Technology, methodology and expertise are the basis of our V-SOC, oriented towards the proposal of new detection & response logics of remote cyber attacks for the reduction of risks on privacy, driver safety and continuity of service.
