The case of the Villa Maria Care & Research Group is an example of the choice of the digital dimension without mediation, to which Exprivia has responded by providing innovative and easily manageable solutions.

Needs

A great Group, great goals

The Villa Maria Group, an Italian holding company that operates mainly in the healthcare sectors, is characterized by its offer of High Specialization and Quality services and by the rigorous selection parameters of partners. GVM asked Exprivia to digitally manage the total clinical activity of the entire group and most of the outpatient, surgical and inpatient activities. Today, the Group successfully uses Exprivia’s RISPACS e4cure system (Radiodiagnostics) and the eRepository and eArchive systems (archiving and publication of reports and images).

Exprivia Solution

Digital is easy

The center of the system is a redundant central archive on which both the images produced by the local offices (short term) and the images from clinics on the national territory and pertaining to the headquarters (long term) are stored. The Exprivia system for GVM consists of a platform for the computerized management of all clinical activities, integrated with the CUP and the Repository. The environment is complete with eWard electronic medical record, management of requests to diagnostic services (Order Entry eRequest), availability of document sources, two medical record specializations (Cardiac Surgery and LongLife), service for access to reports and images by patients and general practitioners and the possibility of activating an eLearning platform for the updating of medical and nursing staff.

Technology and warranty

The system complex guarantees Business Continuity and Business Performance through the redundancy of archives and technological systems, Disaster Recovery, connectivity, configurability and flexibility. Other features are the use of a uniform application in diagnostic imaging and the international projection of the project.

Results

With the operation of the RIS PACS digital system, the Villa Maria Group has already recorded a reduction in costs, an increase in service efficiency and an improvement in the service provided. In the future, the optimizations may be even more substantial.
The path taken by the GVM group is oriented towards the complete digitization of all structures through further evolutionary interventions on the documentation and automation processes in all departments of the Group, with the implementation of the entire e4cure suite and complete integration with the company’s MPI.
