The ability to interpret data, predict phenomena and understand climate change takes a step forward, thanks to the innovative digital visualization project of Earth data<\/strong>, assigned to Exprivia S.p.a. <\/strong>by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.<\/p>\n Exprivia<\/strong> has in fact won the European tender launched by ECMWF <\/strong>for the visualization of data on meteorological phenomena<\/strong> and the associated impacts generated as part of Destination Earth<\/strong> (DestinE<\/strong>), the European program aimed at creating a digital twin of the Earth<\/strong> through which to represent climate change and environmental impact with extreme precision. The project entrusted to Exprivia <\/strong>will last eighteen months, for a value of 1.4 million euros<\/strong>. <\/p>\n ECMWF Destination Earth<\/strong> is a European Union-funded initiative, launched in 2022 with the aim of building a digital replica of the Earth<\/strong> by 2030. It will be implemented jointly by three bodies in charge: <\/p>\n The awarding of the visualization contract to Exprivia, in the advancement of the Destination Earth EU<\/strong> program, will require innovative approaches for the rendering and visualization of the large amount of data to allow its efficient use by the community and end users.<\/p>\n The solution designed by Exprivia <\/strong>is based on immersive cloud technology that allows data to be displayed, monitored and stored in real time and interact with the digital twin of the Earth system<\/strong>. The innovative way of displaying data from satellites guarantees a fruition based on techniques used by the gaming industry. The same interactive techniques will be successfully used in simulations of atmospheric phenomena<\/strong>, with a number of different scenarios in which dangerous situations may occur, such as floods, heat waves, epidemics, etc. <\/p>\n “The digital twins of the Earth of the<\/strong> European program will produce a large amount of information that will be made available to scientists, scholars and researchers through the visualization mode developed by Exprivia, which will support users in understanding the data with an immersive experience, in order to increase its interpretation and facilitate the decision-making process to combat climate change.
