PA in the cloud: Exprivia awarded AgID certification for its digital healthcare services

Exprivia is the only ICT operator with the SaaS qualification for solutions in the field of diagnostic radiology and telemedicine

Exprivia has been awarded SaaS (Software as a Service) certification from AgID, the Agency for Digital Italy, for its healthcare services on the ‘e4cure’ platform, and added to the catalogue of SaaS suppliers to which public authorities must refer when they want to acquire cloud services.

At present, Exprivia is the only company to offer SaaS-certified management solutions in the diagnostic radiology field with the ‘RIS-PACS’ platform and in the area of telemedicine for PA, and it is also one of the top seven operators specialising in healthcare.

Since 1 April 2019 AgID has made it mandatory for all public entities to acquire services only from companies with this qualification; as such, to be certified these services must comply with the organisational, security, performance and portability requirements established as well as all legal requirements. This national project is designed to drive the adoption of the Cloud Computing model in Italian public entities with the aim of improving the operational efficiency of ICT systems, reducing costs, making the updating of software easier and more economical, improving the security and protection of data, and speeding up the supply of services to citizens and businesses. All this is in line with the country’s Strategy for Digital Growth and the forecasts of the Three-Year Plan for ICT in Public Administration 2019 – 2021.

Exprivia’s ‘e4cure’ system makes it possible to manage, integrate and share clinical and healthcare information, creating a virtuous relationship between the citizen and the healthcare structure through the integration of reception and booking processes (CUP), the management of hospital departments and outpatient services, and also remote assistance and telemedicine. The sharing of the information that makes up the medical history of citizens and appears in their health records helps to make the diagnosis process faster and safer, guarantees the continuity of healthcare and at the same time makes it possible to optimise healthcare spending.

e4cure - underlines Francesco Bellifemine, Digital Factory E-Health and Smart City Director at Exprivia – is based on a combination of our consolidated experience and continuous innovation in healthcare. A system that has gained further recognition with the AGID certification, guaranteeing definite benefits for users and public entities. This new development will enable Exprivia to make a key contribution to the process of modernising the public health service”.

As outlined in its 2018-2023 Business Plan, the cloud is one of the four Digital Enablers that Exprivia has decided to invest in. In terms of the cloud, the company’s ISO/IEC 27001 certification was recently extended to include the ISO/IEC 27017 and ISO/IEC 27018 guidelines for the planning, development and supply of SaaS cloud services. An additional qualification to add to the recent partnership announced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the creation of services in what is regarded as the most flexible and safest cloud computing environment on the market.
