Exprivia | Italtel brings the electronic health record and the diagnostic system for RIS/PACS imaging to Mexico

Exprivia - a company listed on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange [XPR.MI] - was awarded a contract for one million euros over three years for the imaging and reports digitalization of the Mexican healthcare system, which has approximately 13 million clients.

Exprivia|Italtel has in fact provided its own software and its own expertise in health information technology services for the creation of the largest clinical information and diagnostic imaging network in Mexico. The project is based on Exprivia|Italtel's EHR (Electronic Health Record) system, which is made up of a repository for the archiving of clinical documents and a RIS/PACS - VNA (Vendor Neutral Archive) system for storing and sharing diagnostic imaging within the system of the Instituto de Seguritad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), the federal government organization that provides assistance to federal workers.

In the 40 ISSSTE hospitals spread all over the country, the RIS/PACS system by Exprivia|Italtel enables the digital management, archiving and distribution of images and reports regarding radiology, endoscopy, and pathological anatomy, respecting the privacy of the approximately 13 million people that depend on the organization. An Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, based on the Clinical Repository and the Exprivia Imaging Archive which was centralized in Mexico City, is being used as the National Electronic Health Record.

The project was carried out in collaboration with Tesi Mexico, a commercial partner for the distribution of Exprivia solutions in the Mexican and Latin American markets. To Exprivia, the contract is worth about one million euros over a period of three years. The maturity and effectiveness of the Exprivia and Tesi technologies allowed the realization of the entire project in record time: only 8 months, including testing.

Domenico Favuzzi, President of Exprivia, wanting to emphasize the internationalization of the group, said: "The contract for the health system of federal workers in Mexico is another important step for Exprivia in the international market that sees our products more and more orientated towards healthcare systems that, at a global level, are centralizing and digitalizing their processes. The creation of an Electronic Health Record at the national level also adds a prestigious reference to a still very topical issue for the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces".
